Meet the Leadership Team

Miki Kapoor, President

With two decades of experience exclusively in healthcare – operations, finance, strategy and policy – Miki Kapoor has a notably broad perspective on the U.S. healthcare system.

Most recently, Mr. Kapoor was the President of Everyday Health, a publicly-traded company that was acquired in a $465 million transaction in 2016. As part of aggressively scaling Everyday Health while moving the company toward utilizing vast amounts of consumer and medical data for effective patient and physician communication, Mr. Kapoor acquired Tea Leaves Health for Everyday Health in 2015. Today, Mr. Kapoor serves as Chief Executive Officer of Tea Leaves Health.

Mr. Kapoor’s experience also includes serving as Head of the Global Payer & Provider Division as well as Global Head of Strategy for IMS Health, having joined as part of the $5 billion take-private of IMS Health. That transaction later resulted in the IPO of the company in 2014, in what is considered one of the most successful and largest turnarounds in healthcare private equity history. He has served as Senior Expert for McKinsey & Company and Executive Vice President, Health Systems and Health Finance for the Clinton Foundation while living in Africa and India. He started his career with almost a decade on Wall Street as an investment banker focused on payers and providers, healthcare information technology, and healthcare services.

Miki Kapoor attended graduate school at Yale University, where he received both an MBA in Finance and an MPH in Health Policy. He is a graduate of Washington University in Saint Louis, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. He is a Fulbright Fellow, formerly a visiting professor at two universities, and sits on the boards of several healthcare organizations. He is passionate about public and private healthcare and believes there are substantial and achievable improvements that can be made to change the quality, access, and cost equations for patients.


Simon Bradstock, Chief Operating Officer

Simon serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Tea Leaves Health. Prior to joining Tea Leaves Health, Simon spent four years at Experian Marketing Services, where he led the Consumer Insights business unit and was a member of the Experian Marketing Services leadership team. The business provided insight and analysis into the online and offline behaviors, brand preferences and media habits of consumers across America.

Prior to that time, he worked for 14 years in various leadership roles, spanning general management, product management and marketing for the Dow Jones/Reuters/Factiva group of companies. In his role as Managing Director at Dow Jones, Bradstock led the acquisition and integration of a start-up business that provided executive-level customer intelligence and lead generation data. Simon holds a B.S. in Genetics from Swansea University and his post graduate certificate from University of West London in Management Studies.


Sachin Agrawal, Chief Commercial Officer

As CCO of Tea Leaves Health, Sachin Agrawal applies his over 12 years of experience in management and business development to oversee the Sales, Marketing and a portion of the Client Strategy divisions of Tea Leaves.

Prior to his time at Tea Leaves Health, Sachin served in various consulting and director roles for Cumberland Consulting Group, The Advisory Board Company, and IMS Health. Sachin earned his B.S. in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and his Masters in Health Economics, Policy and Management at The London School of Economics and Political Science.


Anand Kuppusamy, Chief Technology Officer

At Tea Leaves Health, Anand is responsible for all aspects of technology including software development, data builds, quality assurance, maintenance, network operations and corporate infrastructure. As Director of the data team, he is a key team member behind Tea Leaves Health’s master person index and matching technologies.

In 2003, Anand started with TechSafari. Over the next decade there, he became the data architect of large volume data systems spanning telecom, credit, real estate, demographics, healthcare, accounting and more. He led several M&A data warehouse integration projects as a consultant through TechSafari.

Prior to TechSafari, Anand worked at SchlumbergerSema as team lead for the call rating unit within the Latin division for their telecom billing product BSCS.

Anand completed his Bachelor’s in Engineering at Anna University in Chennai, India. He moved to the United States to pursue his Masters at Louisiana Tech University in 1997.


Lori Brenner, VP of Physicianology

As the VP of Physicianology, Lori helped found Tea Leaves Health more than five years ago. She conceived, designed and guided development of the Physicianology platform, creating the tool she always wanted while leading physician relations departments for healthcare organizations. Lori understands the information needs of healthcare executives and physician relations professionals as they work to strategically grow their organizations.

Lori has been on the business side of healthcare her entire career, and has a passion for both data and physician relations. Prior to her time at Tea Leaves, she held leadership positions with Ministry Health Care & Marshfield Clinic, and also worked with REACH3 (now Influence Health) and CMP Medica/Physicians Practice. Lori received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.


Lori Bruss, VP of Marketing

Lori serves as the VP of Marketing for Tea Leaves Health. In her role she leads the marketing strategy and execution of all marketing-related activities. Her forward thinking, passion, attention to detail and knowledge of the industry will help Tea Leaves Health in its continued growth. Lori has extensive expertise with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare marketing.

Prior to joining Tea Leaves Health, Lori served as Executive Vice President of The Roberts Group for 15 years, a healthcare marketing and advertising agency serving hospital and health system clients around the country. In her role there, she oversaw the marketing, business development and client service departments. Prior to joining The Roberts Group, Lori worked for Froedtert Health in Milwaukee and Mercy Health System in Janesville, WI.

Lori holds a Master’s degree in Health Education from Carroll University and a B.S. in Community Health Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate classes at two universities.


Karen Hsu, VP of Finance and Operations

Since joining Tea Leaves Health in 2015, Karen has served in a variety of roles including financial operations to support strategic planning, performance management and revenue recognition, sales operations, and account management.

Karen has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry that includes product development and strategic account management to both payers and providers. Prior to joining Tea Leaves, Karen worked at IMS Health where she provided thought leadership in support of strategic objectives of the business unit and successfully designed and launched claims-based SaaS product offerings for IMS Health’s Payer and Provider Unit. She has experience in working in a variety of settings including hospitals, health plans, government, corporate organizations and start-ups.

Karen holds a B.S. in Psychology/Biology from the University of California – Davis, as well as a MPH in Health Policy and MBA from the University of California – Los Angeles.


Don Larson, VP of Implementation

Don Larson is a 20-year healthcare veteran with wide-ranging experience in business and product development and hospital operations. In his current role, Don oversees data acquisition and integration, new product research and development, as well as data platform enhancements.

Don has extensive healthcare data experience that includes interfacing with most major patient data and decision support systems, service line development and financial data integration, and strategic healthcare market intelligence expertise.

Don previously served as Senior Director of Strategic Planning for a large national hospital system. He has also developed IT and business intelligence solutions for multiple healthcare vendors and hospital associations. Don received an M.A. in English from Wake Forest University and a B.S. in Biology from Lambuth University.


Jody Spusta, VP of Patientology

Jody is a veteran healthcare marketing and client strategy professional with nearly 16 years of experience in account and client relationship management. In her role as Vice President of Client Strategy and Service at Tea Leaves Health, Jody leads a 15-person team that manages a base of over 300 hospital clients. Jody provides significant strategic insight to her clients during not just the planning process, but throughout the life of the relationship. She has a keen sense of best practices, ensuring her partners’ return on investment goals are met. She also oversees the flawless execution of all the print and digital marketing campaigns executed within the Tea Leaves platform. Jody helped found Tea Leaves in 2011, and has since developed the client base as well as led all technology implementations to date.

Prior to her role at Tea Leaves, Jody excelled as an Account and Program Manager for Charlton and Minacs, and led national client development for REACH3 (now Influence Health). She served on the board of the Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society (WHPRMS) as an Education Co-Chair from 2009-2016. During her seven years of service, she executed its annual conference and provided top-notch educational programming for its members. Jody holds a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
